Cinemas around London

Electric Cinema

191 Portobello Rd, London W11 2ED, UK – 020 7908 9696

Iconic Notting Hill movie theater showing current movies, and classic flicks. Wonderful interior space with lounge seats, cashmere blankets, a bar, food and snacks, and ottomans to kick your feet up while you sit back and enjoy the show. There are also front beds, designed for two people to lay down and watch the movie, which is super fun!!!

The best way to watch a movie. It takes you back in time when cinemas were not just how many people can you squeeze in one auditorium but how comfortable it is. You get your own armchair to crawl in and a foot rest ottoman. If you open the ottoman there is a cashmere blanket in there to wrap around you and feel cosy. There is food too and drinks that you can enjoy from your little side table with a cute little lamp. It is not pricier than a usual cinema but you get so much more for your money. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price. Enjoy:)

Cineworld Cinema London - Fulham Road

142 Fulham Rd, Kensington, London SW10 9QR, UK – 0330 333 4444

A very nice Cineworld Cinema in London. Very neat and clean. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. There is a nice cafe too. I recommend this Cinema for any movie lover. Thanks.

Great cinema. Good range of films and nice setting. Nice new Starbucks inside too.

Everyman

Baker St, Marylebone, London W1U 6TJ, UK – 0871 906 9060

This place is everything you want when you are watching a movie. The staff were very kind. I had a mix up with my ticket and they helped me out and got everything sorted and were so kind about it, even though they didn’t have to. The couches are really comfortable and the theatre is small and intimate, feels like home. The mix sweet and salty popcorn is so good as well. Overall an amazing experience, highly recommend.

Comfortable seating (like watching cinema from your own couch, but better), perfect arrangement and love the snack options. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Popcorn is butterfly popcorn instead of mushroom popcorn which would be my only complaint - still, all in all a fantastic place to catch a movie while cuddling with a friend/partner.

Theatres for London

Gate Theatre

11 Pembridge Rd, Notting Hill, London W11 3HQ, UK – 020 7229 0706

A lovely little theatre with an incredible line up of eye opening productions. Presenting theatre that makes you think, engage and challenge your ideas / perceptions. Its a tiny space, but with brilliant staff and attention to every detail they've made a beautifully inclusive space that supports inspirational theatre.

Great cosy little theatre for a unique night out. Would highly recommend seeing a play here in support of the grass roots theatre scene.

Bush Theatre

7 Uxbridge Rd, Shepherd's Bush, London W12 8LJ, UK – 020 8743 5050

I've edited this review to reflect my 5 star rated appreciation of the wonderful support staff : admin, reception, bar , theatre and community engagement who always make all who enter this comfortable refurbished space extremely welcome, immediately included and can answer any query with a smile. The former library's makeover has made it a fully accessible venue with a wide ramped entrance adjacent to the market leading past outdoor seating and decorative plants. Double spaced sliding doors are easily operated by wheelchair users, less firm of foot and encumbered parents with or without bulky buggies. The reception/bar/cafe and reading areas are clearly signposted as are all the rooms on the upper floors down to safety details and the directions on the disabled lift. You can read inspirational quotes on the wall, see the contributors list for those who've helped fund the eclectic space you're standing in. Though open and spacious it still achieves and retains the cosy feeling of a quiet, relaxing, 'library' space. The walls still reverberate in my imagination with the rustle of pages turning, heads absorbed and transported into other worlds by a myriad of words. Now these heads are either bent in absorbing conversations or gazing intently at performers engaging you in persuasive thought, an exchange of intimacy entirely appropriate to the style and rustic charm of this brick building. I attend a community drama improvisation workshop once a month on a Saturday afternoon, which is thoroughly enjoyable and is attracting a delightful mix of ages and talents from Bush, White City, Askew and surrounding areas. It's a building for its borough, it's community, for the dramatic and visual arts, a beacon in a cultural desert. Yes we have music venues, another theatre and cinemas etc but how many of them engage you in conversations about what you'd like to see. This place doesn't just want your ticket money, it wants and commands your loyalty by virtue of how much it values your contribution to its work. Read the website, learn about their support for new playwrights, expand your mind without breaking your bank balance - drink / food prices very reasonable - soup, sandwiches, pastries cakes (: become a friend of. It's THE FASHIONABLE PLACE TO BE ANY TIME OF THE WEEK.

Offers an interesting selection of contemporary theatre. Even if you're not seeing a performance here, it's a great spot for a G&T or beer either solo or with friends. Outside area where you can sip your drink and watch the world go by. Easily reached by tube, overground and bus.

Finborough Theatre

118 Finborough Rd, Kensington, London SW10 9ED, UK – 0844 847 1652

Historical place with a nice bar and great ambiance. The plays are really good

Absolutely lovely laid back place. Last visited in 1993 and it was still just as nice in 2017. Outstanding acting when I was there. Intimate with only a few lines of seats. Can take drinks into the upstairs theatre. After the performance the actors came and had a drink with us. The pub is a fine building too.
